John, a fine picture, re-visiting an older era. In this case, the vignetting is 100% right. There are some great old sites like that along Route 66 in Arizona, some of them turned into tourist trap gift shops and museums of sorts. We try not to miss stopping when we are on the old Mother Route.
Hi there, you two. You make me wish that my husband was retired and we could hit the road. I'm afraid I robbed the cradle and now the price is that I'm retired and he isn't. It's okay, we are in the process of thinking about a travel trailer and doing a little local traveling. Getting our feet in the water, so to speak. I love your photography and the feeling of meandering through this wonderful country of ours. When I was young I did a lot of traveling on route 66 with my parents. We lived in Indiana but traveled to Arizona and New Mexico some winters. So, I think I have a little gypsy in my soul. God bless your journeys, your newest follower, Connie :) Come on over and visit my blog, my welcome mat is always out.
nice shot John..love those old gas stations!..always wonder about the history and all the cars that have filled up there?
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, love the composition and the vibrant colors that bring this old place alive!
ReplyDeleteLooking at this picture my first thought was that it would make a good opening shot for a murder mystery movie.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.
Lonesome old station - I wonder how many people and cars passed that way. Great story shot.
