I have been fortunate to see this guy on numerous days while he is out making his "living".
I actually have much better photos of him however I liked this one because he was eating.
Ah, he's just a little hungry!! Sure captured some beautiful colors.
Its funny, I know he is a large bird and his food is probably very low in calories, but this guy is very successful in his hunting. I have been surprised to see how much he really does eat.
Eating is very natural, of course, but overeating is not. Eating a lot of fish is good for you, but cooking it is not fun. If we could eat lots of raw fish, would we have blue feathers too?Love the picture, love the colors!
I think we would all be very lucky to eat more fish and have blue feathers too. Unfortunately, I have seen this same bird (at least I believe its the same bird)eating a snake too. I think eating a snake would give me green feathers.
Just so he doesn't talk with his mouth full. :)
Judy as you probably know, these birds can be eating machines. I have watched this bird for countless hours over many days and I remain amazed at how much (and how often) it seems to eat.
Love those birds. Beautiful to see them flying - so graceful.Great photo with the sun shining on him.
This guy is indeed a beautiful bird! As I said above, I have watched this same bird numerous times and never grow tired of seeing him.
How nice of him to stop and strike a pose for your camera lens.Captivating capture.cheers :)
Thanks so much Pam. I would love to see his family too and get a photo like yours with the "babies"!
