    1. Hi Donna. As is often the case, I was there at the right time with a camera in hand. The chick was somewhat shy, as I watched them, it would often hover around the bushes, just a bit out of sight.

    1. Hi Sandie. I didn't know they were called colts either. From what I can find out, they are called both, chick and/or colt.

  6. Simply awesome!!! Mama and baby what a picture. I learned something did not know they were called Colts. Hmmm that is different. What happened to chick?

    1. Hi Tammy. Like you, I had no idea about "colts" either. From my reading, calling them chicks and/or colts seems to be appropriate. Maybe when they are just hatching, calling them "chicks" would be more correct.
