Big Cypress National Preserve, Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, Ten Thousand Islands Marsh Trail
I have seen a few of these wonderful birds...they are quite unique. I love their "ponytails".
Hi Robbie. This was my first time knowingly seeing a Night Heron. I am not certain of this, but I think he is actually wearing a "breeding Plumage". Thanks for the nice comment.
What's he doing up during the daytime?? :)
I don't know but I am sure glad he was there. Lucky for me he was very intent on eating and not paying much attention to the photographer.
That's a beautiful shot. The contrast, colors and lighting as so great. Gorgeous bird.
Thank you Donna. I was pleased with the way this photo turned out but once again, He did all of the real work, I was only there at the right time.
He is gorgeous. I've never seen one of them.
Hi Karen. The Night Heron is a beautiful bird and I feel very fortunate to catch him in a photo. As I mentioned above, I had not knowingly seen one before either.
